About Us

Introduction

Jamiyah Welfare Department (JWD) was established in 1974. It is among societies providing care and assistance to those in need, such as the disabled, less fortunate, widows, orphans and families of drug detainees. It has three services which are the free medical clinic, free legal clinic as well as the bi-monthly food ration.

Some of the cases are referred by the Prison Department, the Housing Development Board, the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS), Community Development Council (CDC), Member of Parliaments (MPs) and other Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs). Some of the cases are those who come forward to seek assistance and help.

The assistance mentioned above is open to all and sundry in Singapore regardless of race or religion.
